Iolo here – was the Councellor from Wales last year. Would’ve loved to come back but unfortunately money-issues have demanded I stay home. Hope all the kids have a fantastic time and hopefully I’ll be able to visit the camp for a few weeks to see all my old friends again. Hope everything goes well!
We owned a cottage on the waterfront at Balfour Beach for over 40 years, sold it to the Newmans in early 90′s. I spent my entire summers at the cottage and at Camp Katonim, my sisters as well. I was a camper from probably 1950 – 1971 Bill Rogan was the director back then.
Those were the best years of my life at Katonim, it was a better camping experience than most sleep over camps at the time.
I also worked at the camp for several years as a councillor and head of tripping. I would highly recommend this camping experience to anyone who loves the outdoors and a great waterfront.
I’ve been going to Katonim since 1998. We are the Nadlers. My grandmother went to Katonim when she was a little girl and so did my mother when she was only 3. Same thing with all my first cousins. (citrons and kaufmans) and even my second cousins the Ruby’s. I’m coming up on my 13th summer at Katonim and I know it’s going to be even better than the last ones. I’m looking forward to it. SWEET SUMMER OF 2010!
I worked at Katonim for 10 summers from 74-84 (except for 82). Anyone who attended the camp in the late seventies will enjoy the slide show from 1979. It sure brought back a lot of memories. I was able to identify most of the staff and campers in the pictures. I can remember the slide show be shown at the end of the summer in 1979. Those were great summers.
Camp Katonim was what we looked forward to all year long. Those were the best summers of my life. Now my kids Max and Olivia go there and look forward to it as I did. Shout out to: Joel, Simba, Muttley, Shotsy and Stu, and cousin Jonathan. And hi to Neil Packham – a dedicated Katonimite! And David Allen – a great cottage neighbor and friend.

I was a camper at Katonim from 1993-2004..or maybe 2005, hard to remember. Those were the best summers of my life.
Now I’m coming back as Program Director – what a thrill!
Alumni, please send us some photos from your years at camp! We’d love to grab some good ones and post them on the site.
I hope that everyone will be catching some sun this summer!

Hey Katonim!!!
Best Day Camp ever! You got me addicted to Mr. Freezies.
I’m still close friends with most of the campers I went with to Katonim. Thanks for the memories. “Hi” to my Uncle David who wrote a msg down below.
Have a great 2010!!!
