Campers can’t wait for Wednesday evenings when they return to camp at 7:00 pm for a fun filled hour of camper’s choice extra special activities. They can try your hand at cooking, spa, skiing, fishing, archery and so much more. Following Hobbie Hubs, parents are invited to join the campers for a campfire and marshmallow roast.
Every month we bring the entire camp together for fun team games and special events. These special summer camp competitions have become a huge success. Whether it be Color Wars or Olympics, each month the camp is divided into teams which compete in several fun and crazy competitions. These exciting events truly seal the bond among campers and staff as everyone becomes equally involved, whether cheering on their teammates or helping someone make it past the finish line – everyone participates and has fun no matter what their age.
Whether on camp property (for the younger kids), or off-site overnights are an opportunity for campers to bond as a group while enjoying the experience of the Canadian wilderness. Campers will take part in learning equipment safety to campsite set-up. The real fun begins however, once arriving at the campsite – meals cooked over an open fire, marshmallows roasted, and stories told. The overnight, time and again, is the highlight of the session for many of our campers.
Every camper is invited back to camp for the annual Camper Banquet which takes place the last week of camp. Awards for both staff and campers are presented as everyone reminisces over the summer’s events. As the sun sets, festivities end with the traditional Camper Slideshow and walk down to our beach to say farewell to another memory filled summer at Camp Katonim.
